Well hello, everyone! It has been a very long time since we posted a brand spanking new recipe on here. Sorry, about that…Life happened!! We promise you this year is going to be filled with exciting things with the Desires of the Foodaholics.
We are coming back with our most favourite recipe to date. It is healthy, quick and easy. What more could you want? The Hummus makes a lot, so this would be perfect for an appetiser at a dinner party, or you can save in an airtight container, and it should last a few days.

Ingredients
For the Hummus:
- 2 Ripe Avocados
- 2 Cans of Chickpeas
- 2 Limes, Juiced
- 1 1/2 tbsp Tahini Paste
- Salt and Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 4-6 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Crushed Chilli Flakes
For the Pitta Toast:
- 5 Large Wholemeal Pittas
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 205C.
- Cut the pitas bread into triangles or any snack size shape. Place this into a roasting tin.
- Drizzle over the olive oil, along with the spices and seasoning. Shake the pan around and cook for 10-15 minutes until crispy.
- Heat a frying pan and gently fry the garlic cloves. Do not allow it to brown.
- Meanwhile, add all the hummus ingredients into a blender (we used a Nutri bullet), once the garlic is roasted add this in and blend until smooth.
- Place the warm pittas onto a plate and serve with hummus.
Enjoy!
-Top Tip: Try adding some balsamic vinegar to serve.
